Stone Releases 4-part Documentary
on its European Collaborative Adventures

|
The Stone Brewing Co. is releasing a four-part web documentary on the brewery’s international collaborations. It follows Stone Co-Founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, and Head Brewer Mitch Steele on their 2009 trip to Norway and Scotland. Sit back and watch as they relish a feast fit for a Viking horde, brave the choppy waters of the North Atlantic, encounter the inspiration behind a “Trashy Blonde” ale, and seemingly attempt to bribe their way (with beer) into owning a lighthouse. Among other exploits. Oh, and they brew two legendary beers.

In 2008 and ‘09, brewers from Norway’s Nøgne-Ø and Scotland’s BrewDog traveled to San Diego to brew batches of beer in collaboration with Stone’s Production Team. Greg, Steve, and Mitch returned the favor by visiting the brewers on their native soil and brewing at their breweries.

The video gives fans a behind the scenes look at the camaraderie and collaboration that lies at the heart of craft beer and Stone’s Collaboration series. It also introduces fans to the colorful personalities behind well-known breweries, like Nøgne-Ø’s brewmaster Kjetel Jikiun, whose thunderous beard and giant frame belay his generous hospitality, and BrewDog’s James Watt and Martin Dickie, whose full-flavored, Stone-inspired beers and irreverence have stirred controversy in Scotland.

The 27-minute documentary produced by Redtail Media will be released in four parts, with a new installment posted every Thursday at 1 pm. |
